Shallow and Deep Shear Wave Velocity Structures and Site Responses of the Bangkok Basin for Seismic Hazard Assessment

This study investigates shallow and deep shear wave velocity structures and site responses of the Bangkok Basin using MASW and microtremor array measurements. Most Vs30 values at 200 sites are less than 180m/s (Soil Class E), with bedrock depths exceeding 1,000m at some locations. Ground response shows predominant periods of 0.8-1.2s and 2-5s, correlating with damage to high-rises during the 2025 Myanmar earthquake.
