This paper examines the impact of the 28 March 2025 M7.7 Mandalay/Myanmar earthquake on southern Thailand, with particular focus on Hat Yai located 1,700 km from the epicenter. The study discusses the supershear rupture characteristics of the earthquake and reviews active faults in southern Thailand, including the Khlong Marui Fault Zone with paleoseismological evidence of past M7.0 events.
