ศูนย์วิจัยแผ่นดินไหวแห่งชาติ (EARTH) เป็นศูนย์กลางที่รวมผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านแผ่นดินไหวในประเทศไทย ที่ทำหน้าที่วิจัย ติดตาม และเตรียมความพร้อมเพื่อรับมือกับภัยธรรมชาติที่อาจเกิดขึ้นได้ทุกเมื่อ
เหตุการณ์แผ่นดินไหวครั้งล่าสุดในประเทศพม่าที่ส่งแรงสั่นสะเทือนถึงประเทศไทย โดยเฉพาะในพื้นที่ภาคเหนือ และกรุงเทพมหานคร เป็นตัวอย่างที่ชัดเจนว่าประเทศไทยไม่ได้ปลอดภัยจากภัยแผ่นดินไหว แม้จะไม่ได้อยู่บนรอยเลื่อนขนาดใหญ่เช่นประเทศเพื่อนล้านก็ตาม
เพื่อเสริมสร้างความปลอดภัยให้กับประชาชน ทางศูนย์ฯ ได้จัดทำสื่อให้ความรู้ที่เข้าใจง่ายเกี่ยวกับการเตรียมพร้อมและรับมือกับเหตุการณ์แผ่นดินไหว
